Is Snapnames Sniping Ethical?

One of the domains I was bidding on was sniped from me at Snapnames the other week. At the time, I put a $500 reserve on the name, which seemed ample. There were two other bidders, both seemed unwilling to increase their initial bids. I was leading the auction with 10 minutes left
